CentOS 6.4發佈(2013.03.11)

日前，CentOS 官方發佈了基於 Redhat Enterprise Linux RHEL 6.4 的 CentOS 6.4，目前大家已經可以在官方網站自行下載及安裝。

CentOS 6.4 主要更新：

1. 預載 Microsoft Hyper-V 驅動程式，方便在 Microsoft Hyper-V server 上安裝 CentOS 6.4
2. 預載最新版本 samba4 資料庫，優化 AD 功能

CentOS 5.5

CentOS 5.5 是 CentOS 5 發行系列的第五次更新，距離上次CentOS 5.4版也差不多才半年多前。它包含了很多錯誤修正、升級和新功能。
同時，由 CentOS 5.5 起，x86_64 將會被分開為兩張 DVD，也算是創下紀錄。

CentOS 5.4 2009-10-21跟隨Red Hat Enterprise推出

釋出的重點包括了 kernel-based 的 virtual machine 虛擬化，與伴隨 Xen 虛擬化而來的一些技術。虛擬化解決方案的擴充性已增加到支援 192 顆 CPU 與 1GB hugepages、GCC 4.4 與新 malloc()、叢集、高可用性(high-availability) 檔案系統等。

CentOS 5.3版在4/1釋出～（不是愚人節消息！）

CentOS是來自於Red Hat Enterprise Linux依照開放原始碼規定釋出的原始碼所編譯而成。由於出自同樣的原始碼，因此有些要求高度穩定性的伺服器以CentOS替代商業版的Red Hat Enterprise Linux使用。兩者的不同，在於CentOS並不包含封閉原始碼軟體。
